Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is wishful thinking in the effect that he wants Brad Pitt to portray him if a film was ever made about him.

Gingrich was asked when he called in to Rich Stevens’ Radio Show who he would want to play him in a film about his life and his answer was the Moneyball actor, although he did admit there were no similarities in the look department.

“No, I don't look like him at all," Gingrich said, The New York Daily News reports. "He's thinner, he's better looking, he's younger.”

He went on, “But you asked me if I could have anyone who could play me in a movie, why not go for Brad Pitt?"

Pitt has yet to respond to Gingrich’s comments, although it would seem unlikely that he would ever go for such a role, as he is known as a Democrat.

Meanwhile, Pitt appeared on Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show on Wednesday night and talked about how Oscar competition should be just like the political race.

USA Today reports that Stewart first said, "Why don't Oscar movies … go negative on other movies? It's always 'For your consideration: Moneyball,' but why not, like, 'The Artist: Go (eff) yourself.' "

"I thought about it,” Pitt laughed, adding, "Clooney took Iowa, New Hampshire, Jean took South Carolina. Florida will probably go to Oldman. ... I gotta get in there and mix it up."
