Abortion doctor accused of first-degree murders after unsuccessful abortions

A Philadelphia doctor has been convicted of murder in the first degree of four infants that were delivered alive during his abortion procedures, then slaughtered directly after birth.

72-year-old Kermit Gosnell, who holds an abortion clinic in Philadelphia, was found guilty on three accounts of first-degree murder on three babies today, Monday. He was acquitted of the fourth charge of first-degree murder of another infant, according to Associated Press via CBS. Gosnell was also indicted and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar who had died during one of his procedures of an anesthesia overdose in 2009, as noted by NBC. The verdicts were announced as of 3:00 p.m. this afternoon eastern standard time. He could face a life sentence in prison or the death penalty, but results will pend until next week when the jury reassembles to discuss his punishment, as recorded by The Washington Post.

Gosnell was arrested and accused of unorthodox abortions and patient manslaughter since January 2011. An earlier article of Gosnell was released a couple of months ago and can be found here at TheCelebrityCafe.com. Below is a video coverage by NBC via Youtube.
