Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert pay tribute to Oklahoma tornado victims on ‘The Voice’ (Video)

Blake Shelton was joined by his wife Miranda Lambert on The Voice last night to perform “Over You” in an emotional tribute to the victims of the tornado in Oklahoma. Shelton is also hoping to put together a tribute concert to help raise money for the recovery.

The superstar country couple performed the song solo, with Lambert singing and Shelton playing an acoustic guitar. NBC urged viewers to make a donation to the Red Cross during the performance.

After the show, Shelton told Billboard that he and NBC are already planning a tribute concert. “We'll know more about it in the next 24 hours,” he said. “I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously it will be televised and will happen really quickly.”

Shelton is a native of Ada, Oklahoma, which is 75 miles south of where the tornado hit. “There was a lot of different things we could have done as a tribute to Oklahoma,” he told E! News. “I'm from Oklahoma and Miranda's from Texas, but we both live in Oklahoma now as we speak and my home is in Oklahoma. When this is over with tonight, I'm going to get on an airplane and fly back there.”

About the decision to do “Over You,” Shelton explained, “We decided to do a song we actually wrote in Oklahoma that's about my family...and it just made perfect sense to do that particular song.”

Fellow country star Toby Keith was born in Moore and he is also reportedly planning to do a tribute show.

Several other stars have shown their support for Oklahoma. Comedian David Spade told E! that he has donated $200,000 to the Red Cross for the recovery efforts.
