Carrie Underwood donates $1 million to Oklahoma relief funds

Carrie Underwood has donated $1 million to her home state Oklahoma after suffering from the recent tornado.

Underwood donated the funds from her Blown Away tour to the Red Cross according to USA Today. The 30-year-old singer released a statement about her large donation; "I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness." Underwood said in the statement, "With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornados."

Fellow Country star, Blake Shelton announced that he would be hosting a benefit concert called “Healing in the Heartland” according to the Huffington Post. The concert will be held May 29 on NBC live from the Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
