Ivy restaurant review

Ivy restaurant and grill is an upbeat, classy place located in New York's thriving Hell's Kitchen on eighth avenue between 55th & 56th street. If you're looking for a new hip spot to hang out with friends, enjoy happy hour drink specials, delicious food and catch the games all at the same time, this is the place to be!

My friend and I had the privilege of experiencing it all last night. We started the evening with one of Ivy's ten signature cocktails. Sparkling Ivy! It is a tasteful and unique combination of champagne and patron tequila. It was delicious and the bartenders are not shy when it comes to topping you off. They also offer a wide variety of wines and beer on tap at the trendy bar.

We then followed that up with some of the many enticing appetizers. Lobster Tacos, Steak Spring Rolls, and last but not least, the Grilled Pizza. Yes, we came with our appetites! Jacob Westerbeck, the manager of newly opened Ivy informed me two fresh lobsters are delivered daily from Maine to further ensure that guests enjoy great quality cuisine. Talk about service! The Steak House Spring Rolls were nothing less of a wonderful steak dinner with fixings and all wrapped into a fresh, flaky pastry crust. Yummy! As for the Grilled Pizza, it is drizzled in black truffle oil. Need I say more?

Surprisingly, we did have did have enough room left for entrees. We ordered and shared the Crispy Chipotle Burger & the Whole Wheat Penne. Both were recommended by our waitress, who was one of the many friendly and energetic staff members. We were not disappointed again by the amount of flavor and originality, especially of the Chipotle Burger. Bacon Chipotle, jack cheese and sautéed onions mixed in with tortilla chips all made for a very satisfying and stimulating dining experience. Many kudos to Executive Chef Jim Hanley. With his inspiration, Ivy's menu is in a league of its own.

In conclusion, from ambiance, to great music, fantastic food and drink options. Ivy is the place to be. It offers a friendly, fun and trendy environment that would be easy for anyone to love. I, for one, cannot wait to go back.
