Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio confirmed for ‘The X Factor’

Fox has confirmed that former Destiny’s child member Kelly Rowland and Latin pop star Paulina Rubio will make up the rest of the judge’s table for the third season of The X Factor.

The news was widely expected, since over the weekend, it was reported that the two were close to signing a deal with the network and the show’s producers. Tuesday is also the first day of the taped auditions and Simon Cowell promised that an announcement would be made Monday.

“It’s taken more than a decade, but I’m delighted to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!),” Cowell said in a statement released by Fox. “Paulina and Kelly both have great taste and massive experience in the music industry and together with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It just feels like the time to do something different.”

Rowland, who worked as a judge on The X Factor U.K.’s eighth season, added that she is “very excited to be reuniting with Simon Cowell.”

Rudio added, “I’m so thrilled to be part of the show as a judge. Simon, be careful what you wish for, let’s see if you are ready to handle me, empieza la fiesta, amigo!”

The X Factor’s U.S. edition has had a different judging panel for all three seasons. After season one, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were let go and were replaced by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. While Lovato is coming back, Spears and L.A. Reid are not.

The X Factor premieres in the fall. The first auditions will be held tonight in Charleston.
