Kirstie Alley hosting mini ‘Seinfeld’ reunion on TV Land show, Jason Alexander signs on

Kirstie Alley’s upcoming TV Land sitcom Kirstie is hosting a mini-Seinfeld reunion. Michael Richards, who played Kramer on the iconic show, has already signed on as a regular cast member, while Jason Alexander has just joined for a guest spot.

Deadline first reported the news, noting that Alexander’s role might be bumped up to recurring. He will play the agent for Broadway star Madison Banks, Alley’s character.

“It is a strange and wonderful thing to be working on a brand new show yet surrounded by familiar faces and friends. I'm looking forward to a fun and fabulous time,” Alexander, who played George Costanza on Seinfeld, said in a press release.

The project has been in the works since last fall and was first titled Giant Baby. Alley stars as Madison Banks, a Broadway star whose life goes out of control when Arlo (Eric Petersen), a son she gave up when he was born, suddenly shows up. Richards is set to co-star as her driver. Former Cheers star Rhea Perlman is her best friend and assistant.

Kirstie earned a full 12-episode order in February. It is executive produced by Marco Pennette, Alley and Jason Weinberg. Pennette wrote the pilot.
