Krysten Ritter cast in Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’

The 31-year-old actress and star of Don’t Trust The B_____ In Apt. 23, has joined the cast of Tim Burton's next film.

The film, called Big Eyes, is about married couple Walter and Margaret Keane, whose paintings of children with large eyes become an art sensation and phenomenon in the 1950s and 1960s. Who the talent is behind the paintings becomes a decade long dispute which leads to divorce.

The film stars Christoph Waltz as Walter, who is extremely charismatic and claims he is responsible for the brush strokes in the paintings. Amy Adams plays the shy housewife, Margaret, who is the one actually responsible for creating the paintings. The film centers around Margaret gaining the courage to stand up for herself and claim the credit she deserves.

According to Deadline, Ritter will play DeAnn, a free spirit who attempts to help Margaret stand up for herself.

The Hollywood Reporter says Danny Huston is also in talks to join the film, and he would play a heavy-drinking gossip reporter.

Ritter’s acting credits include Don’t Trust The B____ in Apt. 23, Breaking Bad and Gravity.

Production for Tim Burton’s Big Eyes is set to begin this summer.
