Miley Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop'

Miley Cyrus has been talking up her new single titled “We Can’t Stop” on her twitter for weeks now and the day of its release has finally arrived and the single is . . . a disappointment. After showing the world what her voice could do with her 2010 hit “Can’t Be Tamed,” Miley’s new song pales in terms of talent.

In between the questions about her supposed split from actor Liam Hemsworth, Miley has been chatting up her music career. Miley told Billboard “I really have more of a connection of who I am, and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now.” For someone who connected more with herself the lyrics to her new song is horribly generic. The track was produced by Mike Will Made It who has worked with other big artists such as Rhianna and Kanye West, and it was released on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” early Monday morning.

“We Can’t Stop” is slow-paced and unchallenging, with barely audible lyrics about partying, almost like a “grown-up” yet less appealing version of her 2009 single “Party in the U.S.A.” Despite the letdown, the single has been the number one single on iTunes since it’s release on June 3rd.
