Paula Deen's book sales rise following n-word backlash

Some good has finally come out of Paula Deen’s firing from the Food Network. While the southern chef has seen nothing by severe backlash following the National Enquirer’s releasing of a deposition of her admission to the use of the racial slur the ‘n-word,’ and her desire to hire African-American’s to pose as slaves, it seems fans of Deen’s are still all too curious as her book sales have skyrocketed.

According to E! News, Deen’s Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up has seen a significant rise in sales on Amazon since the controversy began. The book has risen from the number 16 spot to the number 6 on the sites Best Seller’s List.

The book is set to hit shelves October 15, 2013.

Deen was let go from the Food Network, Caesar’s Palace, Walmart and QVC is reviewing their relationship with her. She gave a tearful interview Wednesday morning on Today.

The chef proclaims that she only time she truly used the racial slur was in 1986 when a black man held a gun to her head. “If there's anyone out there that has never said something that they wished they could take back,” she expressed.“ If you're out there, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me. Please. I want to meet you. I is what I is and I'm not changing.”
