‘Rush’ by Maya Banks

Rush is by USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks. Banks has topped the charts with her edgy erotic, suspenseful and contemporary romance novels. Rush is the first book in Banks' Breathless Trilogy, the last book Burn comes out August 6, 2013.

The Breathless Trilogy, follows the three main characters; Gabe Hamilton, Jace Crestwell and Ash McIntyre. These three men are charming, wealthy, gorgeous and powerful businessmen. Each book caters to each character, Rush follows Gabe Hamilton, Fever is Jace Crestwell’s story and Burn follows Ash McIntyre.

Gabe, Jace, and Ash met in college and have developed an unbreakable bond, and have become each other’s support system. Their friendship developed into a brotherly bond and they see each other as family. Gabe, Jace and Ash are so close and hold no secrets from one another. These determined men ventured into the business world together and established their fierce and successful HCM Company.

Ash is a charming, flirtatious playboy who is carefree. Jace is the opposite, where he is more quiet and observant but his tall, dark and handsome demeanor grabs the attention of women all over. Gabe is the combination of both and they all share a possessive and dominating character that they exhibit both in and out of their bedroom.

In Rush we go on an angst, erotic and crazy ride as we follow Gabe and Mia Crestwell’s, who is Jace’s little sister, dynamic relationship. Jace raised Mia after his parents passed away in a fatal car accident. Mia was an ‘oops baby’ and there is a 14-year difference between them. With the death of their parents, Gabe and Ash helped Jace raise his little sister. Ash has always seen Mia as a little sister despite his playful flirting. Whereas Gabe started seeing Mia as a potential interest once she blossomed into a beautiful young woman.

All of the men are into BDSM relationships. Jace and Ash have the tendency of sharing their conquests. Gabe is the only one that requires a contract to be signed before he engages in any activity. Gabe has lusted over Mia for a long time and he makes his move when Mia walks in to his hotel’s grand opening. Since Jace and Ash have left, Gabe knows he will have Mia all to himself and makes his proposition. Mia has had a life long crush on Gabe and completely melts when she sees him. With their 14-year-old difference she has always felt that he was out of her league and is surprised when he expresses his interests in her.

The contract is cold and seems like a business deal with no emotional attachment. Mia is hesitant at first but gives into her desire and signs over her ‘rights, mind, body, and soul’ to Gabe. Mia is spunky, smart and doesn’t hesitate to argue with Gabe once they are under contract. She sees a different side to Gabe as he introduces her to his demanding and aggressive world. Mia fears Jace finding out about their agreement and forbids Gabe to say anything. In the process, Gabe falls in love with Mia and struggles with the emotion since he is emotionally unattached. There are intense and mind blowing events that will make it hard for you to put the book down.

Rush is a racy and explicit novel that is for mature audiences. It is a provocative BDSM romance novel that will leave you speechless and your eyes wide with surprise of the amount of detail Banks goes into. Rush is an addictive read that will entice your interests to keep reading The Breathless Trilogy.
