Texas police officer attacked by monkey (Video)

Even monkeys don’t like the sight of police tickets. A Texas police officer learned that the hard way while he was writing out a ticket to hand to a driver.

Aransas Pass police officer Keith Moore, 21, has only been on the force for three months, but the monkey incident means that he already has a bizarre story to share. “We're taught to be on guard at all times,” he told KRIS-TV, but he wasn’t taught to expect a monkey to jump out and bite his arm.

In a video, Moore walks up to the driver he stopped and as he handed the citation to the driver for him to sign, a small monkey jumped out and bit his arm.

“His monkey attacked me,” Moore can be heard telling a sergeant, notes the Houston Chronicle. The sergeant couldn’t believe this and asked, “A monkey? Like a legitimate monkey?”

“Yeah like a legitimate monkey,” Moore said.

According to KRIS-TV, the monkey is a professional but his previous experience with people only involved taking pictures at carnivals and festivals.

“I think this kind of starts the conversations,” Moore told KRIS. “Keeps the standards pretty high.”
