‘Glee’ cast and crew hold private memorial for Cory Monteith

The Glee cast and crew gathered on Thursday to remember Cory Monteith, who died earlier this month in Vancouver.

A representative for Twentieth Century Fox confirmed the news in a statement to Entertainment Tonight, nothing that the show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy and Monteith’s girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele were both at the memorial. The two “gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith.”

The statement did not reveal where they held their memorial.

The news comes just after Marie Claire Mexico published Michele’s last interview before Monteith’s death. “It's more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life,” Michele told the magazine. “But he is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker."

Monteith died on July 13. Since then, Fox has announced that production on the show will be delayed and the season will not premiere until Sept. 26. Murphy also spoke about how difficult it will be to work without Monteith on the set.
