HBO honored with 108 Primetime Emmy nominations

HBO network has received 108 Emmy nominations, the most of any network this year.

According to the official press release, the network received Emmy nominations for the Alan Ball created and produced vampire hit True Blood, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Girls, The Girl, Phil Spector and The Newsroom.

The Steven Soderbergh directed Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra was nominated for 15 Emmy’s, which includes a nomination for Michael Douglas who portrayed Liberace.

Veep’s Julia Louis Dreyfus was nominated for Outstanding lead actress in a comedy. Dreyfus’ nomination is against fellow network stars Lena Dunham (Girls) and Laura Dern for Enlightened, which has since been cancelled.

Documentaries Ethel, The Ghost is Seen, 2013 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, An Apology to Elephants, Crossfire Hurrican, a look back into the Rolling Stones on their 50 anniversary, Bobby McFerrin:YoungArt Masterclass and The 112th Congress.
