Kim Kardashian one of 14 patients at Cedars-Sinai whose records were 'improperly accessed'

Kim Kardashian was informed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that she was one of 14 patients who had their records “improperly accessed.”

Kardashian, who gave birth to daughter North on June 15 at Cedars-Sinai, was informed by hospital officials that six employees improperly accessed the records of patients between June 18-24 and that she was one of the victims, TMZ reports.

According to LA Times, five employees and a research student were fired for breeching privacy of 14 patients. Five of former employees accessed a single record, while the other one searched through 14. Cedars-Sinai would not confirm that Kardashian’s records were one of the 14 accessed; however sources tell TMZ that the reality starlet was contacted by the hospital to inform her that her records were among those accessed.

According to TMZ, the family had already assumed that the records were accessed after details surrounding the birth of baby North were revealed the public-details the new parents never revealed to their friends or family.

The four employees, student and medical assistant have been permanently denied access to Cedar-Sinai.

The hospital’s chief privacy officer, David Blake, explains that the hospital has “high standard for security” and “unauthorized access to any patient's record is, quite simply, unacceptable."
