Lady Gaga announces return to stage at MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga is set to make her first post-surgery performance at the 2013 Video Music Awards.

People reports that Gaga is slated to take the stage and perform the first single off her upcoming album, ARTPOP. This performance marks her return following her hip surgery which forced her to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way Tour earlier this year.

The news was announced on Gaga’s official Facebook page. “It's official! Lady Gaga returns to the stage at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on August 25th for the world premiere performance of the first single from ARTPOP!” the announcement reads.

As People notes Gaga has taken the stage briefly following her surgery, to sing the Star Spangled Banner at New York City’s Gay Pride Parade rally last month.

Gaga’s return to the stage comes just hours after she teased her Little Monsters with news of her upcoming single possibly titled “Applause.” No word yet on how extravagant her performance will be, but considering Gaga’s past VMA performances, she is sure to not disappoint.
