Prince Charles and wife Camilla visit set of 'Doctor Who' as part of 50th anniversary celebrations

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, paid a visit to the set of Doctor Who and met stars Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman as well as the key players in making the show what it is.

The royals visited the set on Wednesday as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also met showrunner Steven Moffat and the Daleks, as well as a host of the show’s writers, costume designer, set decorator, storyboard artist, locations manager, graphics artist and more at Cardiff Bay studios.

Since Roath Lock studios opened in March 2012, this is the first royal visit, BBC reports.

While there, they toured the set, visit the TARDIS and even got to witness a demonstration by SFX on the green screen and meet some of the famous monsters like Daleks, a Silent, a Weeping Angel, a Cyberman, Strax and an Ood.
