Superman and Batman movie may be titled ‘Superman vs. Batman’ or ‘Batman vs. Superman,’ says writer

Now that Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that the next DC Comics movie will team up Batman and Superman, the rumors and speculation about the film’s story and plot can get started. The film is in the very early production stages, but writer David S. Goyer may have let the film’s title slip.

During a special Comic-Con panel celebrating Superman’s 75th anniversary, Goyer revealed a few more details on the project than what WB did during its official panel, notes ComicBook.com.

After recapping the events of the WB panel, Goyer said, “...We’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.”

And that was it for news on the film. There were rumors that World’s Finest might be the title, referring to the classic DC comic that first paired up the two superheroes, but ComicBook.com reprots that WB has already registered a website name for BatmanVsSupermanMovie.com.

The news about the Superman/Batman move broke just hours before the WB panel, with the LA Times reporting that Henry Cavill will play the Man of Steel again. WB later confirmed that the film will be out in 2015, followed by Flash in 2016 and Justice League in 2017. Zack Snyder is directing the Superman/Batman movie and Goyer is writing. an actor for the role of Batman wasn’t announced.

According to Vulture, Snyder did say that they are not adapting Frank Miller’s classic The Dark Knight Returns for the big screen.
