Taryn Manning upped to series regular on Netflix’s ‘Orange is the New Black’

The second season of Netflix’s hit original series Orange is the New Black will have Taryn Manning back as a series regular.

Last month, Netflix green-lighted a second season of the hit prison dramedy, where Manning plays Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett, born to parents in backwoods Virginia, who were addicted to drugs and alcohol plus she’s a meth addict herself, “ as per Deadline Hollywood

The decision to up the actress’ contract status might come as a surprise to fans given the state of Manning’s character during the season one finale.
The smash women in-prison original drama also stars Taylor Schilling, who starred on NBC’s medical drama, Mercy, as Piper, an engaged woman from Brooklyn whose past relationship with a drug runner in college leads her to a 15-month stint in a federal penitentiary. That 70s Show alum Laura Prepon plays Piper’s former drug runner/girlfriend, Alex. Jason Biggs of American Pie fame has portrayed Alex’s fiancé Larry in the 13-episode series and Natasha Lyonne, who starred in 2012’s American Reunion and Kate Mulgrew of Star Trek:: Voyager are also part of the cast.

Manning’s past credits include roles on NBC’s popular police drama Hawaii Five-O, FX’s Sons of Anarchy 2010’s Love Ranch, 2005’s A Lot Like Love and Hustle & Flow.
