Top 10 Auditions: ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 8 Episode 5

Last night’s episode of America’s Got Talent was packed full of so much talent that picking just ten acts to put on this list was a real struggle.

Standouts included a dangerous juggling act, a few very good singers, and an adorable dog act. Others, who didn’t make it onto the list, included a bevy of kids acts, with some wonderful dancers and an adorable DJ and rap duo, and a pair of rappers who managed to get the whole room on their feet with their catchy Rain Dance song. However, there were also duds in the line-up, including a terrible wrestling circus sideshow, a very strange act involving a giant fake cat pooping on stage, and a terrible stand-up comic who just refused to leave the stage. Despite these few duds, Chicago and San Antonio really brought it, making for an odd but exciting episode of America’s Got Talent.

10. Hunk O Mania’s International Men of Steel

I think having Heidi Klum flirt with you is definitely better than making it to Vegas. Talk about bragging rights. Also, I loved the old woman in the audience with the binoculars.

9. Branden James

I liked his voice, but to me many opera singers sound similar, and he wasn’t any different.

8. Enrique

He did get everyone dancing, but his promise of “teaching” everyone samba wasn’t really fulfilled. Despite his lack of direction, I thought he was a good dancer, but his act probably wouldn’t entice people to buy a $50 ticket in Vegas.

7. Sully Dunn

Now this is the type of singer who should be on America’s Got Talent and not some other singing show. He was a good singer, but in a very strange way. I also liked how absolutely appalled some of the audience members were by him singing about college not being worth the money.

6. Kelsey and Bailey

I feel like they really didn’t do much but I don’t care. That dog was just so fuzzy and I was too busy focusing on how cute he was to care about what they did. It did miss me miss Olate Dogs though, who managed to do the same thing, but with a lot more dogs and a lot more tricks.

5. Dillon Wilson

I think Dylan could really benefit from having a partner. Although his act was very good, it seemed like adding a second person would’ve upped the excitement factor and taken the act to the next level.

4. Dave Finley

I liked his voice and his persona. He’s one of those people who you really don’t expect to sing that beautifully, and I love that.

3.. American Hitmen

I’m like Howard—I’ve been waiting for a good band to get up and take America’s Got Talent by storm. I think these guys might be able to do it.

2. David Furman

I liked how he explained what could happen first, because I definitely wouldn’t have realized exactly how dangerous the stunt would have been otherwise (of course I still would’ve thought it was dangerous, just less so). I liked his attitude and his stage presence, and I think he can do well here.

1. Chicago Boys

I always love acrobatic teams, even if they do the exact same thing as all the other teams I’ve seen. But these guys were special because they were different. I liked the new elements that they brought in, especially the human jump rope. Their act was fun, exciting, and dangerous, and I can’t wait to see more.
