'Wipeout' Recap 7/11: Exes

This week’s Wipeout is going to be ‘ex’ themed. Twelve pairs of ex-couples will compete against each other in order to get to the Wipeout Zone. Then, they will split up and all compete as individuals.

Qualifier

This week’s qualifier starts with a dash through Turbo Snail Fail, featuring characters from the upcoming movie Turbo. Then, they move on through Tropic Blunder, onto the Big Balls, through the Tongue Twister, and past the Wipeout Ski Lodge to the finish.

Kevin and Katie are up first. Katie gets knocked off of Turbo Snail Fail, as does Kevin. They try to get over Tropic Blunder by holding hands, but they both end up in the mud. Katie almost makes it across the Big Balls, but falls off in the middle, as does her ex, Kevin. Katie makes it across the Tongue Twister, but falls off on the ending platform. Kevin does worse, falling off in the middle of the trampolines.

Chris Harrison is here to make a guest appearance to cast some of these exes for The Bachelor, and to try to convince Jill to be the next bachelorette.

Mark and Amyjo are up next. Amy does pretty well on the Wipeout Ski Zone until she gets knocked off at the end.

Anthony and Cinnamon are ready to start on the qualifier. Anthony fails to make it to the platform at the end of the Tongue Twister.

Jesse and Rachel are ready to start the course. Chris Harrison comes to give Jill some more love advice, but she once again rejects his offer to be the next bachelorette.

Jeff and Leah are the next couple to make a run on the qualifier. Leah has a lot of trouble with the qualifier, falling of the Turbo Snail Fail, the Big Balls, and the Tongue Twister, all in quick succession.

Mark and Jillian get to work on the qualifier. Despite labeling themselves as overly competitive, they don’t do well on the qualifier, and both of them fall off the Tropic Blunder together.

Chris Harrison comes back with some champagne for Jill. She starts to consider his bachelorette offer, and says that she’ll do it if he agrees to do the qualifier.

Drew and Mai are up next, and she takes a quick fall off the Tongue Twister. Drew gets knocked off the end of the Wipeout Ski Zone, but Mai takes the real hit by falling off headfirst. They finish with a time of 7:53.4.

Chris Harrison is up for the final run of the day. He quickly falls off the Turbo Snail Fail, and gets knocked off on Tropic Blunder. He can’t make it through the Big Balls, and, like many, is surprised by a pop-out at the end of the Wipeout Ski Zone. He accepts a rose from Jill, right before she breaks his heart and refuses to be the next bachelorette.

Wipeout Zone

Contestants start by being thrown off the Slingshot. Then, they have to make their way through the Throwtisserie, and onto the Dark Side of the Moon. If they time their slide correctly, they make it to the finish platform, and go through Twister Falls and onto the finish.

‘Old Lady’ Katie is up first. After a violent fall off the Slingshot, she gets ready for the Throwtisserie. She almost makes it through, but falls at the very end. She gets through on her second try, and moves onto Dark Side of the Moon. She mistimes the slide, and fails to make it to the platform. Her second try goes better, and she gets ready for Twisted Falls. She again fails to complete an obstacle on her first try, falling off the first trampoline. She does worse on the second try, but makes it past the trampolines on her third try for a finishing time of 11:55.47.

‘Fat’ Kevin is up next. He flips off the Slingshot and starts swimming towards the Throwtisserie. He falls off at the beginning, but makes it through on his second try. He can’t make it through Dark Side of the Moon on his first try, but does better on the second. He does better on Twisted Falls, making it past the first trampoline, but falls off on the second. He still manages to finish the course with a time of 9:12.16, knocking his ex, Katie, out of the competition.

‘Competitive Competitor’ Jullian gets ready to go. She falls before even stepping into Throwtisserie, and gets ready for her second try, only to do it again. She finally makes it into the obstacle, and runs through for a quick finish. She can’t make it through Dark Side of the Moon on the first try, but gets through on her second. She’s quickly approaching Kevin’s time at this point, already at 9 minutes. A fall off the first trampoline on Twisted Falls means that her try for the $50,000 prize is over.

Her ex, Mark, is the last one to go. He can’t make it through Throwtisserie on his first try, and after a very slow swim back, he makes it to the end on his second try. A fall off of the platform on Dark Side of the Moon gives Kevin even more of a lead, but he makes it through on the second try, meaning that he still has about 30 seconds to make it through Twisted Falls if he wants to win. The sweeper blades knock him off after the first trampoline, ending his try for the money.

‘Fat’ Kevin Able wins the night, and gets to take home the $50,000 prize.
