Biopic 'Lovelace' starring Amanda Seyfried to come out Friday despite lawsuit from Arrow Films

‘Lovelace’, the biopic about the life of porn star Linda Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard, will come out Friday August 9, much to the dismay of Arrow Productions.

Arrow owns the rights to the 1972 pornographic film ‘Deep Throat’ starring Linda herself. They filed a lawsuit seeking 10 million dollars against the Weinstein Company and Millennium Films for allegedly using five minutes of unlicensed footage and using the title without permission according to Deadline.

In an interview with Variety, Amanda Seyfried said, “There’s an idea of her is this one dimensional character who has this talent for deep-throating.” This seems to be something that the makers of ‘Lovelace’ are trying to change. “Never again will she be silenced by the producers and the distributors of ‘Deep Throat”, Tom Quinn and Jason Janego, Co-Presidents of RadiusTWC (a division of the Weinstein Co.) added.

This time the story from her point of view, seemingly defending the actress who became an anti-porn activist later in her life according to Reuters.

Today, the judge denied the injunction and is allowing the film to be released on Friday as planned.
