Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman successfully treated for cancer

Oscar winning actor Dustin Hoffman has been successfully treated for cancer.

Hoffman’s rep, Jodi Gottlieb, tells People, “It was detected early and he has been surgically cured," she explained. "Dustin is feeling great and is in good health."

While Gottlieb declined to divulge further details surrounding the Rain Man actors cancer, she did not that Hoffman will undergo doctor’s treatments to prevent the cancer from returning in the future.

Hoffman is married to Lisa Gottsegan, has six children and two grandchildren, Contact Music reports.
Currently Hoffman is promoting Quartet, his directorial debut. The film stars Maggie Smith, Tom Coutenay, Billy Connolly and Pauline Collins. Quartet was released March 1.

Hoffman will follow with roles in Chef, alongside Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and Sofia Vergara, as well as returning to lend his voice for the recently announced third Kung Fu Panda in which he voices Shifu. He is also slated to star in The Song of Names, although no additional details can be revealed at this time.
