'The Challenge': Rivals 2 Episode 6 Recap

In a rare episode of The Challenge without a fight, there was still a lot to look out for, including the challenge revealing peoples dirty secrets.

This week started off with the fallout from last weeks deliberation fiasco. Theresa was talking to Aneesa, Diem's partner, about how she didn't trust anyone anymore after Diem pounced on her mistake by sending Leroy and Ty into the jungle unexpectedly. Theresa stated that she now was done playing this game for friends and was going to look out for her best interest in the game. Right after she said that a clip was shown of Theresa and Jordan talking, and Theresa told Jordan she trusted him and was expecting him to have her and Jasmine's back. This seemed innocent when it was shown, but would be huge later on.

Now to the actual challenge. This weeks challenge was a nice change of pace. Typically the challenges are physical and about who gets the fastest time, but this week it was about who knows the most about their partners. Each team had one member hanging thirty feet above water, that member had already answered a series of questions. The other team member had to try to match that answer and if they didn't they would get a strike. Two strikes and the hanging partner falls into the water and is eliminated.

This week was a girls week so the girls went first, and while the first question was innocent (what did your partner say was your best body part?), the questions after that get pretty personal. With questions like which remaining cast member in the house is the fakest, some dirty laundry got aired. Jemmye was shocked when Jonna said she was the fakest in the house, and Diem was also shocked when Cooke said the same about her.

As for the results of the challenge, it was quite clear going in that Jemmye and Camilla were at a disadvantage because they rarely ever talk to each other, while most other pairs at least communicate a little bit. Because of this Jemmye got the first two questions wrong and that sent Camilla into the water, and they were both now headed straight to the jungle. After going on a one week hiatus from winning, Emily and Paula won yet again, as Paula and Emily matched up on every single answer. This marks their fifth win in six weeks.

The guys portion of this challenge was more comedic than anything. The questions included which remaining female is the trashiest, and which remaining male, other than yoruself, is the sexiest. C.T. answered the trashy question by writing R.I.P. Wes, which eliminated them. It was a smart move by C.T. to not call any of the girls trashy because they do have the ability to vote him into the jungle. In the end it came down to Frank and Johnny and Leroy and Ty. Leroy and Ty were able to take this challenge along with the power to choose the order in the next challenge.

Back at the house as everybody was preparing for deliberation, Theresa was getting pretty worried. In an effort to save herself she tried to rally teams to vote for Aneesa and Diem. At the deliberation the first three votes went to three different teams. Aneesa and Diem, Theresa and Jasmine, and Cooke and Cara Maria all had one vote. The next choice belonged to Jordan and Marlon, a team which supposedly gave their word that they had Theresa and Jasmine's back. They went against their word and voted for Theresa and Jasmine, and all but decided their fate that they would be headed to the jungle as Knight and Preston threw away their vote by saying Jonna and Nany.

Throughout the episode it became abundantly clear that basically everyone in the house did not like Theresa whether it be Diem, or Emily, or even Aneesa who she was talking to in the beginning of the episode. All three of them said something to the effect of karma came back to bite you, about Theresa. After the outcome of the deliberation Theresa and Jordan got into a bit of a screaming match, where Theresa was upset about Jordan going against his word. Jasmine took it to Jonna, the girl Jordan has been hooking up with, and said that she shouldn't involve herself with Jordan, and she deserves better. That seemed to go in one ear and out the other for Jonna, as she and Jordan were seen kissing at the end of the episode, which caused Nany to express some concern. Jordan was in a no win situation with his vote, either way his team went they were going to make somebody angry, the decision they made was to make the least amount of people angry. Diem has a lot of pull in the house and going against her at this point wouldn't have been a smart decision especially considering they are rookies, and Diem has had their back the whole time.

At the jungle it had each girl on a treadmill across from their partners. While running on the treadmill the girls needed to pass and catch balls from their teammate and deposit them into a bucket. The catch is that the treadmill will continue to go faster, and if you fall your out, and the other team can continue going. The first team to win two heats would stay in the house.

Before the jungle began Theresa and Jasmine talked smack about Jemmye and Camilla to the camera, saying they had a good shot because they don't have communication issues like their opponents do. At first Theresa and Jasmine seemed to be backing up their talk by getting out to a quick two-nothing lead, but as Jasmine tried to catch another pass from Theresa, she slipped off the treadmill, freezing their score at two. That gave Jemmye and Camilla the opportunity to calmly get two more balls into the bucket and take the first heat three-two. The second heat went pretty quickly as Jasmine made the mistake of throwing two balls consecutively, which made Theresa lose her focus. She then proceeded to fall off the treadmill with her team having only deposited one ball into the bucket. Jemmye and Camilla were able to get two balls into the bucket without a problem, and take this jungle rather easily. Jemmye and Camilla really flexed their muscles in this jungle and showed that they can really compete, and have a shot at winning some money. Theresa and Jasmine on the other hand were sent home, and that made Jordan and Marlon look like geniuses.

The end of this week marks the halfway point of Rivals two. There are five guy teams left and five girl teams left, and while this week provided no real fights, there was still a lot going on. The rest of this season promises to bring a lot of action and a lot of drama as we are nearing an epic final challenge. The guys side seems to be a wide open competition, as for the girls side it seems like it is Emily and Paula's challenge to lose. We will have to see what crazy things are in store for us in the second half of this season of The Challenge.
