Anna Chapman refuses to discuss Twitter marriage proposal to Edward Snowden

Former Russian spy Anna Chapman is refusing to talk about her tweeted marriage proposal to Edward Snowden.

An interview with NBC's Richard Engel ended early after Chapman was asked about her proposal to Snowden, NBC News reports.

"I'm not going to discuss this," she said. "OK, the interview is finished. I'm sorry."

Chapman was arrested back in 2010 in New York after it was discovered she was a Russian spy and was part of a spy ring. After being deported back to Russia, the 31-year-old started a TV called Mysteries of the World, which is about ghosts and aliens.

The TV host had agreed to the interview with NBC to promote her show, which airs on Russian television.

Engel asked, "You lived a very mysterious life. One you still don't like talking about on television... Does that seem strange to you?"

Chapman responded that she is "a very private, discreet person" that doesn't "do many interviews because I just don't like to share."

The interview fell apart only five minutes in after being asked about her Twitter proposal to Snowden, the Daily Mail notes.

"I don't want to discuss America. I'm sorry," Chapman said. "I think [the interview is] done because it's not going the right way."

"I get the sense that somebody had told her don't go there, don't talk about this," Engel told the Today show.
