'Big Brother' renewed for 16th season

Despite the controversy that Big Brother 15 brought, CBS has confirmed that the reality series will be back for a 16th season.

LA Times reports that this season saw a significant bump in ratings following the racist and homophobic remarks made by a handful of the contestants, but most notably by former model Aaryn Gries. The series saw a 11% increase over the last year.
Big Brother: After Dark which now airs on TVGN has also been renewed.

Currently, the show is one week away from crowing the winner. On Thursday night, the houseguests sent home Judd, who entered the house once again after being evicted weeks prior. Andy won the Head of Household competition and will have to decide who he will nominate. The final four remaining contestants are Andy, GinaMarie, Spencer and McCrae.

The season finale of Big Brother airs next Wednesday, September 18. Fans of the series can also vote for their favorite player. Online voting is currently open.
