Bill Cosby talks about black culture

Bill Cosby appeared in an interview with CNN's Don Lemon over the weekend, expressing his thoughts on today's African American culture and living in the housing projects.

Cosby noted that a strong family foundation and higher education is the key to being successful.

"I think it has to come from the universities," said Cosby, according to E!Online. "I think, women, strongly because when you see 70 percent, in research, that says they are the leaders of the household, what we need is for people to realize I want to raise my kid [...] I want to take on that responsibility."

He went on to talk about how when he was living in the projects, he wasn't taking care of himself or his responsibilities; then he started managing his education and started to become successful.

Cosby also opened up about how he believes the behavior of young black kids is lacking.

"Your children are walking the streets loudly using profanity feeling kind of powerful as they storm the subway or whatever," said Cosby, according to The Examiner. "They get on the subways and they're disrespecting elders. What happened to the old saying, 'I didn't raise you like that.'"
