Brad Pitt discusses possible 'World War Z' sequel (Video)

As some of you may know, World War Z had every right to be one of the biggest critical flops of the summer. Although with Brad Pitt drawing audiences the film still could have brought a modest amount of money. The film during production suffered many hardships, and not just the common things you would normally see. Not a few months before the release of World War Z the production had to re-shoot the entire ending because they felt their ending wasn’t strong enough. Without pushing the release date up, this surely meant box office hell. Not to mention some mean word of mouth was already spreading by upset fans of the popular book that the movie is based on.

Despite all of this, the movie was not only a critical success but also one of the biggest grossing summer movies. In an interview Brad Pitt says in regards to a possible sequel, “We’re certainly talking about it, yeah. We have so many ideas on the table from the time we spent just developing this thing, and finding out how zombie worlds work. We have so many ideas, and so much information that we think we got a lot of stuff in mind from or to. So we’re going to do our best and see what we get out of it. We got to get the script right first to determine if we go further.” According to Cinema Blend Being one of the producers for World War Z, Brad Pitt is nothing but excited for the success of his latest film.

Despite the negative buzz, the film managed to gross $533 million making World War Z Pitt’s most successful movie to date. We can expect to see Pitt’s production company, Plan B to move forward with the decision to make a sequel. Especially when the film releases on September 17 adding more money to the already high gross. Brad Pitt obviously needs more money, how else is he going to feed that family?

Of course, Brad Pitt is a story man, and won’t move forward until a good script is locked into place. He probably should have done that for Cool World. According to IGN Brad Pitt says that he’d love to come back.

What do you think? Does Pitt need to make another zombie thriller film? It may be too soon to tell, and some fans of the book might have a burst of anxiety in their zombie shelters when word comes out of a sequel to their beloved novel.
