Browns sign Willis McGahee

After making the trade that shocked the NFL of Trent Richardson to the Colts, the Browns pick up a replacement for Richardson in Willis McGahee.

The deal was if he passed the physical, the Browns would sign him and that's exactly what happened. McGahee played in Denver with the Broncos last season and lead the team with 731 yards. After signing his contract McGahee found himself right at the top of the Browns running backs depth chart, ahead of Bobby Rainey and Chris Ogbonnaya.

According to USA Today Browns defensive lineman does not see the trade of Richardson as a sign of surrender from the front office.

"Definitely not," he said. "We're out there and we put in work every day to win. This doesn't change that, so right now we're working to beat Minnesota and we're going to continue to do that. I respect the decision they made."

CBS Sports reports that there is a little bit of concern about whether or not McGahee will be effective right off the bat. McGahee was released during the offseason by the Broncos after two years, then he had a chance to play with the Giants, but despite their running back troubles they decided not to sign him.

If McGahee plays to his true potential, he could make a big impact on this Browns team and maybe even turn them around.
