Disney alters film schedule, delays 'Good Dinosaur'

Walt Disney Studios has announced that Pixar's The Good Dinosaur has been delayed.

The news comes less than a month after The Good Dinosaur lost its director after Bob Peterson was removed from the project. At the time it sounded like Pixar might not have liked the direction Peterson was taking the film.

The movie was set for a May 30, 2014 release date, but the date is now Nov. 25, 2015, Los Angeles Times reports.

As that date was the one for Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, that movie has naturally been pushed back as well. The fishy film will be out sometime during the following summer.

Pixar President Ed Catmull said, "Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film." He added, "Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time."

The New York Times notes that with the delay, it will be the first time in nearly a decade that there hasn't been a Pixar film released.

Not everything has been pushed back, Disney's live-action film Maleficent has been moved up from July 2014 to May.
