Emmys 2013: Cory Monteith’s mom and Jack Klugman’s son clash on ‘In Memoriam’ segment

Cory Monteith’s mom approves of the tribute her son will have at the Emmys tonight, which disagrees with Jack Klugman’s son, who said Cory doesn’t deserve it.

Klugman, the 90-year-old Odd Couple actor who passed away this year, isn’t getting any sort of tribute during the Emmys. His son, Adam Klugman, was furious, saying, “They’re celebrating this self-inflicted tragedy instead of celebrating the life of my father, who won three Emmys… Cory Monteith never won an Emmy,” according to the LA Times.

Monteith’s mother, Ann, disagrees with Adam. She said, "If [Cory] had lived 30 more years, he would have accomplished much more,” according to TMZ.

The Emmys will have an “In Memoriam” presentation this year to honor television figures who recently passed away. Some of the honorees include Monteith, Gary David Goldberg, Jonathan Winters, James Gandolfini, and Jean Stapleton. Jack Klugman was left out of the program, along with Larry Hagman, who starred in Dallas.

Ann went on to say that Adam is “misdirected,” although she understands his pain in missing a loved one. She said that she won’t watch the Emmys tonight because it would be too emotional.
