Liam Neeson calls being an action hero at age 61 'a joke'

Liam Neeson has become a common named associated with action films. From his role in Taken, Taken 2 and Batman Begins, to name a few, the 61-year-old laughs off the title of action hero as a “joke.”

According to Digital Spy, Neeson discussed his role as an action hero during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Neeson laid it out plain and simple, the reason why he started taking on the role of an action hero in his 60s is simply because “they're dumb enough to offer them to me!"

“It's like, I'm 61 years of age! I mean, come on. It's a joke. It's like [mimes talking into phone], 'How much? OK, I'll be there,’” he adds.

Neeson is rumored to have recently signed a $20 million contract to sign on for Taken 3. The award winning actor will reprise his role as Bryan Mills in the sure-to-be action filled third installment.

Neeson also has a handful of films coming up, including The Nut Job, The Lego Movie, Non-Stop, A Million Ways to Die in the West and Run All Night.
