P!nk to accept award for Woman of the Year at the 2013 Billboard Women in Music event

P!nk has been named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. She will accept the award on Dec. 10 at the Billboard Women in Music event in New York City.

The singer’s album The Truth About Love, which was released in Sept. of last year, was her sixth studio album and her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list. It was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammy Awards.

P!nk will follow-up Katy Perry as Woman of the Year, and said in a statement she was “shocked and surprised” about the honor.

"I was absolutely shocked and surprised to hear that Billboard named me Woman of the Year," she told Billboard. "It's been an incredible year and I feel so grateful to radio for sticking by me, and to the fans and friends and all of the incredible talent that I was fortunate enough to work with for this album."

Hit singles off of latest album include "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," "Try," "Just Give Me a Reason" with fun.’s Nate Ruess and "True Love.”

Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director, said of P!nk that she has “almost been in a class by herself among women in music this year.”

P!nk is currently on a world tour, that was extended due to popular demand, in support of her album The Truth About Love.
