Tom Hiddleston recites Shakespeare’s 'Sonnet 18' (Video)

Prepare yourself, Hiddlestoners. A new video has been released of Avengers star Tom Hiddleston reciting one of Shakespeare’s most famous and most romantic sonnets, “Sonnet 18”.

Hiddleston recorded the sonnet, which famously begins with “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” for the new web-based app called “The Love Book”, reports Broadway World.

On its website, The Love Book is described as such: “The Love Book interactive app invites you to read and hear great words on love and even record your own version to share across your social networks.”

Hiddleston joins other stars such as Helena Bonham Carter, Gina Bellman, Damian Lewis, and Helen McCrory as they present “a new anthology of timeless poems, short stories, quotes and letters, all inspired by that most noble (and most troublesome) of emotions: love.”

The Love Book app is available for $2.99 on iTunes, and 10% of the proceeds will reportedly go the charity Children in Need.

Back in August, Hiddleston announced The Love Book on his Twitter account in a tweet, also linking his fans to where the app could be purchased.

Hiddleston is no stranger to Shakespeare. The actor has been in stage productions of Othello and Cymbeline and was also in the BBC’s The Hollow Crown last year, playing Prince Hal in Henry IV Parts I and II as well as playing the starring role in Henry V.

This coming spring, Hiddleston will star in Shakespeare’s Coriolanus, which will be broadcast to cinemas worldwide from the Donmar Warehouse on January 30 as part of National Theatre Live.

Below is the video of Hiddleston reading "Sonnet 18". His fans cannot seem to get enough of it, as it has received nearly 25,000 views in only five days.
