'7th Heaven' star Stephen Collins' wife sues for spousal support a year after divorce

7th Heaven star Stephen Collins filed for divorce from his wife of 27 years last year. Now, Faye Grant is coming forward to claim her share in their money.

According to TMZ, Collins made $1 to $3 million per year while married to his wife Grant, and he continues to rake it in. In 2013 alone, he brought in at least $400,000 for Revolution, $64,937 for Devious Maids, $7, 682 for Scandal and $5,500 for The Fosters. Now, Grant is demanding a percentage of that, saying that she gave up her acting career to raise their daughter and is now unemployed and broke.

Grant is filing for spousal support and half of Collins' $6 million bank account – most of which he made from his 7th Heaven career.

When the couple first announced their divorce, Grant told E! News, “Stephen’s filing for divorce is a surprise. I am devastated. I wish him the very best in whatever path he chooses to take. Twenty-seven years of marriage in Hollywood is the equivalent of 189 dog years. I was exhausted.”

But it seemed as though the divorce would be a clean one. Collins reported that they were “moving forward separately in our lives…She has been my dearest friend and a loving mother. I know that we’ll go through this process in a way that honors our family.” Apparently something has changed since then.
