Aaron Taylor-Johnson cast as Quicksilver for 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (Report)

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has joined the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron as Quicksilver.

It was previously reported back in July that Marvel might be considering the Kick-Ass actor for the role. He was supposedly the top choice to play Quicksilver.

According to Cinema Blend, the Latino Review is exclusively reporting that Johnson has indeed been cast. Though there has been no official word from Marvel.

When it was rumored back in June that he might be up for the role, Johnson openly talked about how he might play the character. The actor said, "There's years - over 50 years - of backstory on him all there to use, and I like doing that. Him and his sister [Scarlet Witch] have been abandoned by their parents. ... His sister really is his guidance - emotionally she's the one who looks after him, and vice versa."

"He has real anger frustration - I like that. I always thought it'd be quite funny if you saw him eating toads and people asked him why and he'd explain it's because he's burning so much energy all the time."

The news comes only a day after Samuel L. Jackson casually revealed that Elizabeth Olsen was cast for the movie as well. She will likely portray Quicksilver's sister, Scarlet Witch.
