'Happy Gilmore' star Christopher McDonald arrested for DWI

Actor Christopher McDonald, 58, best known for his roles in Happy Gilmore, Requiem for a Dream and Thelma & Louise, was arrested on DWI charges.

McDonald was pulled over in the early hours of Wednesday, Aug. 16 in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he’s currently shooting the film The Squeeze.

TMZ reports he was taken to jail around 4:30am and his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at .15. His bail was set at $1,000.

TMZ even has a photo of him drinking at a bar with a few other guys, looking pretty intoxicated.
According to Us Weekly, McDonald has four children with his wife of 21 years Lupe Gidley.
His recent credits include a part in HBO’s Emmy-winning Boardwalk Empire playing Harry Daugherty and in the ABC show Happy Endings. He’s most famous for starring opposite Adam Sandler as Shooter McGavin in the 1996 hit Happy Gilmore.

His court date is set for Dec. 11.
