Madeline McCann's parents still searching for new leads after their daughter's disappearance six years ago

Investigators have found new leads from newly discovered cell phone records in the case of Madeline McCann, the British child who disappeared six years ago while on vacation with her family in Portugal.

Her parents, 45-year-olds Kate and Gerry McCann, are preparing to make a public TV appearance on Crimewatch to make a plea with the kidnapper to give their daughter back.

“Kate and Gerry hope whoever has their daughter, or any of their family and friends, will see their new appeal and come forward. Someone knows where she is,” said a family friend of the McCann’s, Mirror News reports. “Millions of viewers are due to watch this appeal which could lead to a significant new breakthrough. We are hoping witnesses with vital information will call in and that arrests will be made. There could even be arrests as the show is being screened which has happened with previous Crimewatch appeals.”

Madeline disappeared in May 2007 while sleeping in her family’s vacation apartment in Portugal while her parents were down the street with friends. She was three years old at the time.

Today News reports that investigators are now examining every cell phone number used in the area around the time of Madeline’s disappearance, hoping this will help them find new leads in the case.
