Michael B. Jordan talks ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Independence Day’

Michael B. Jordan’s name is floating around Hollywood a lot these days, after his acclaimed performance in Fruitvale Station. His name has been associated with three two projects in the works right now and, in an interview, he addressed all three.

Jordan sat down with the Associated Press and first confirmed that he did audition for Star Wars: Episode VII. He met George Lucas on Red Tails and said he auditioned, but not with a lightsaber.

“I mean, everybody’s going in on this project. They’re trying to figure out what they want,” he told the AP. “That’s another incredible franchise. It’s pretty crazy! … We’ll see how it happens. I don’t know how I can do everything.”

Among Jordan’s future projects is definitely the Rocky spin-off Creed, which will reunite him with Fruitvale director Ryan Coogler. “That’s amazing, I can’t wait to do it. … That definitely is going on,” he said.

He’s also been linked to Fantastic Four and Independence Day 2. Fantastic Four is being directed by his Chronicle director Josh Trank and Jordan said that he’s “definitely interested” in that one.

As for Independence Day 2, he said he’s a fan of Will Smith (whose role in the sequel is still up in the air) and “if that came true, that would be cool, too," Jordan said.
