Sheila Stewart, Radio One personality, passes away

Radio One will be feeling the loss of their radio personality Sheila Stewart. Stewart is a well-known radio veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the field.

Sheila Stewart was killed in a car accident in Atlanta, Ga., this morning according to WUSA9.

She delivered the news for local Radio One stations in DC heart by people in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area. She was News & Community Affairs Director for Radio One.

Stewart was living in Atlanta with her sister recently. On her way to work her car stopped all of a sudden and she was struck behind by a car reported

NBC.

When NBC first reported the news there was uncertainty about what caused Stewarts death, but later confirmation came that it was due to a car accident. Stewart was pronounced dead at an area hospital in Atlanta.

Twitter was full of condolences by those who personally knew Stewart and those that have heard her voice speak to them for years through the radio. U.S. Senator Ben Cardio tweeted his condolences.

May her soul rest in peace and my condolences to Stewart's family.
