Tori Spelling calls Katie Holmes 'plastic' and 'miserable' pre-Tom Cruise split in new book 'Spelling It Like It Is'

Tori Spelling disses Katie Holmes in her new book Spelling It Like It Is, writing that they had an extremely awkward run-in at the office of vocal coach Eric Vetro just before Holmes’ divorce from Tom Cruise.

Spelling was especially annoyed that Holmes was unaware Spelling had two kids at that point, calling her “plastic” and criticizing her vocal abilities. Now the mother of four children, Spelling wrote she knew Holmes back in her Dawson’s Creek days but when running into her years later, her attitude was “Don’t even come close.”

"I didn't know whether we should hug or shake hands. But the signal from her was immediately clear: Don’t even come close,” she wrote, Us Weekly reports. “I instantly got nervous. We clearly weren’t going to catch up on the last ten years. And we certainly weren't going to talk about her husband, Tom Cruise."

She went on to say they exchanged some words about each other’s’ children, but “She was just plastic. In a perfectly polite way . . . my pits were drenched. I never sweat. It was that awkward. I thought, I know you're not a robot because you can’t sing for s**t ."

When Spelling’s anxiety went away, she said she “just felt sorry for her. I felt sad for her. Those paparazzi photos, the ones where she looks like she’s miserable but putting on a happy face? That's what she looked like in person."

Meanwhile, the Dean and Tori’s Backyard Bash star recently spoke about her financial troubles, but her husband, Dean McDermott, downplayed them soon after.
