TV Ratings: ‘The Voice,’ ‘NCIS’ lead NBC and CBS to Tuesday win, ABC comedies grow

This Tuesday was an odd night for the networks, as Fox aired a new X Factor in place of its sitcoms, while ABC ran a repeat of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Despite that, ABC’s sitcoms actually performed well. The winners of the night were still NBC and CBS with The Voice and NCIS.

Starting over at CBS, the eye network was the most-watched with 15.1 million viewers, but its 2.5 18-49 rating average was behind NBC. NCIS kicked things off with 18.98 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating, notes HitFix. NCIS: LA drew 14.76 million viewers and a 2.6 key demo rating, while Person of Interest ended the night with 11.9 million and a 1.8 rating.

NBC had 9.6 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating overall. Biggest Loser started the night with 5.9 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating. As Deadline notes, the fact that it didn’t earn a sizeable boost shows that it failed to take advantage of the SHIELD repeat, like the other 8 pm programs. The Voice followed with a 3.5 18-49 rating, down 13 percent from last week’s one-hour show. It drew 11.35 million viewers for the first hour and 11.49 million in the second hour.

Fox’s special X Factor had 4.76 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating, down 25 percent from its most recent new episode.

ABC fell to fourth with 4.11 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating. Despite a SHIELD repeat, The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife did well, with Goldbergs earning the same rating (1.7) as last week. Trophy Wife was up to a 1.7. That just goes to show that there’s little audience overlap between SHIELD and Goldbergs. A shark Tank repeat ended the night.

The CW’s Originals had 2 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 rating, while Supernatural had 2.16 million and a 1.1 key demo rating.
