TV Ratings: 'Blacklist' stays strong, but 'Castle' passes in viewers

NBC claimed a victory in TV ratings for Monday night as The Voice topped everyone and The Blacklist remained strong in the key 18-49 demographic. However, the drama lost to ABC's Castle in total viewers.

Though NBC's Voice won the night, it stumbled slightly as the show finished up its popular early rounds, HitFix reports. The network averaged 12.45 million viewers for the night and a 3.8 rating. The singing competition lost to ABC's Dancing with the Stars in its first hour, but pulled ahead in the second thanks to 14.11 million tuning in and an increased 4.5 demo.

NBC's Blacklist did decently for the night averaging 10.57 million viewers with a 3.0 demo.

ABC did decent for the night thanks to DWtS and Castle, which saw an average audience of 10.63 million, but lagged behind other programs in the demo with a 1.9 rating. Though DWtS saw a strong opening hour for the night, it increased little in the second hour with 13.53 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the demo. The network averaged a 1.9 rating and 12.3 million viewers.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that CBS did better than normal in the TV rankings for Monday. That might have been helped by both some football coverage and Sleepy Hollow being off for a week. How I Met Your Mother was only down slightly at a 2.9 rating, while 2 Broke Girls stayed even with a 2.6. Freshmen comedy Mom and Hostages were both up slightly with a 2.4 and 1.4 rating, respectively. CBS averaged 7.3 million viewers for the night with a 2.2 in the demo.

Fox only had a new episode of Bones for the night, which had a 2.1 rating as Sleepy Hollow was a rerun. The network averaged 5.4 million viewers and a 1.6 in the 18-49 demo.

The CW's two shows were up slightly for Monday. Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast saw ratings of 0.6 for the night. The network averaged a 0.6 demo rating and 1.5 million viewers.
