Billy Graham released from hospital after two days

Evangelist Billy Graham has been released from the hospital after two days. He recently celebrated his 95th birthday and was hospitalized due to respiratory problems.

Graham was admitted to an Asheville, North Carolina hospital on Tuesday. His family said that it was due to a “respiratory congestion issue” and they expected him out of the hospital in a matter of days.

William Hathaway, chief medical officer at Mission Hospital, confirmed that Graham did go home today. “Mr. Graham was alert and in good spirits during his stay,” he told the media, reports USA Today. Graham’s doctors were “pleased” with his test results, Hathaway said.

Franklin Graham released a statement Thursday, explaining that his father has been dealing with chest congestion regularly. Graham did go to the hospital last month for the same issue.

“His health is generally good for 95,” Franklin Graham explained. "My father is encouraged and he's surrounded by people who care for him and love him, so he's in good hands. At 95, people praying for my father's health is always appreciated.”

On Nov. 7, Graham celebrated his 95th birthday in North Carolina with a celebration that was attended by several celebrities. While he was not able to speak to the crowd, he did deliver a sermon through a previously recorded video.
