Bruce Springsteen announces new album ‘High Hopes,’ scheduled for January

The Boss will be back to ring in 2014. Bruce Springsteen and Columbia Records have announced that his new album, High Hopes, will be released on Jan. 14.

High Hopes will feature several members of the E Street Band, along with guitarist Tom Morello, who collaborated with Springsteen on his last album, Wrecking Ball. According to his website, the album’s tracks were recorded in New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta and Los Angeles and there were also sessions in Australia.

The new album will also feature previously unreleased material with the late Danny Federici and the late Clarence Clemons. Springsteen called these tracks “some of our best unreleased material from the past decade” in the liner notes, which were also published today.

The songs with Morello were recorded in Australia, when he performed in place of Steve Van Zandt. He also sings with Springsteen on a new version of “The Ghost of Tom Joad.” “ Tom and his guitar became my muse, pushing the rest of this project to another level. Thanks for the inspiration Tom,” Springsteen wrote.
