Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ with Russell Crowe trailer released, shows off Noah’s battle to build the ark (Video)

The trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah has finally hit the web and it is as intense as you may have expected. Although it had leaked before, Paramount Pictures posted the official HD version today.

The two and a half-minute trailer is heavy on the action, focusing on Noah’s visions from god, telling him to build the ark and to save wildlife and humanity from the flood. In the trailer, Noah seeks guidance from Methuselah (Anthony Hopkins) and it’s obvious that many of the other humans aren’t happy that Noah isn’t going to take them on the ark or they don’t believe him.

Emma Watson, who plays Ila, and Jennifer Connelly, who stars as Noah’s wife, Naameh, are also seen in the trailer.

Noah is Aronofsky's first film since 2009’s Black Swan, in which he directed Natalie Portman to an Oscar win. So, expectations are high. There had been a report last month that Aronofsky and Paramount were at odds over the film after test screenings didn’t go as well as hoped. However, this report was slammed by his rep, who told Entertainment Weekly, “This is a long and collaborative process, and Darren and the studio are working together to make the best version of his movie that they can.”

Noah is scheduled to hit theaters on March 28, 2014. Here’s the trailer:
