Ed Reed released by Texans

Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed was released by the Houston Texans on Tuesday. The Texans also put running back Arian Foster on injured reserve.
Reed missed the first two games of the season due to hip surgery and recently went to a backup role. After Sunday’s game he criticized the team publicly, saying that they had been outplayed and outcoached in their first game without coach Gary Kubiak, according to the Associated Press. Interim coach Wade Phillips wasn’t happy with Reed’s comments.
''Everybody has their own feelings about what's happening,'' Phillips told the AP. ''They have their own ideas about what's happening or didn't happen. We try to keep everything in house.''
During the offseason Reed signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Texans after 11 years with the Baltimore Ravens. Last season he led the Ravens to a win in the Super Bowl, but hasn’t played liked he did with the Ravens. He has just 16 tackles this season.
Foster is done for the season with a back injury. He will need to have back surgery. In his fifth season, Foster had 542 yards and one touchdown on 121 carries, according to Sports Network.
The Texans, who are currently 2-7, play against the Oakland Raiders at home on Sunday.
