Maksim Chmerkovskiy to return to 'Dancing with the Stars' for semifinals

Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return to Dancing with the Stars on Monday. He took the last two seasons off of the ABC show to pursue other projects, such as Forever Tango on Broadway.

The dancing professional will not come back to dance, but he will be co-judging with Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the semifinals.

Chmerkovskiy won’t have the opportunity to judge his brother Val and his partner Elizabeth Berkley, as they were eliminated last week. Corbin Bleu, Bill Engvall, Jack Osbourne, Leah Remini and Amber Riley are the contestants left in the competition, People reports.

ABC's president of entertainment, Paul Lee, said ahead of the new season, "Maks is part of the family … We love having him be part of the show.”

Chmerkovskiy owns several dance studios with his family, TMZ reports. He’s certainly been keeping busy since his departure from Dancing with the Stars.

He’s also dating model and actress Kate Upton.
