Michelle Pfeiffer, who made headlines this week for revealing she was once in a cult, is opening up about aging and beauty. The actress said she is “mourning” her youth.
In an interview with The Telegraph, The Family star admitted that aging can cause a psychological effect.
“The loss of youth, the loss of beauty – it definitely plays havoc with your psyche,” she said. “There’s this transition from, 'Wow, she looks really young for her age,’ to, 'She looks great for her age.’ And there’s a big difference. I’m now at, 'She looks great for her age.’”
She continued, “There is certainly a mourning process to that. But, you know, it’s kind of liberating. I don’t need to look younger than I am, because it ain’t gonna change anything.”
Pfeiffer, who says she’s a “little too close to 60,” also said she hasn’t had any plastic surgery but she won’t rule it out.
“I used to think I would never have surgery but it’s really hard to say never. I’m in the 'never say never’ camp now,” she said.
Pfeiffer dropped a bombshell this week when she said she had been in a cult accidentally, living without food and water.
