Miley Cyrus not expected to repeat VMAs performance at MTV EMAs, Robin Thicke shoots down reunion

Miley Cyrus is not one to repeat herself, so this weekend’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam is not expected to have a repeat performance of her much-discussed Video Music Awards performance. Robin Thicke, who is also slated to perform during the show, has also ruled out a reunion.

Viacom International Media’s Bruce Gillmer, who is co-executive producing the show, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the show’s success and explained why the producers approached Cyrus to do the show.

“Miley was actually one of the first artists we had booked – and before she was doing any other show,” Gillmer explained. He explained that her new album, Bangerz, has been receiving a lot of buzz and that she’s performed at the ceremony in the past. “But we were pleased after all the attention and increased profile after the VMA performance,” he said. “We thank our MTV U.S. family for elevating her profile even higher.”

He’s not expecting Cyrus to do something as outrageous as the VMA performance with the “Blurred Lines” singer, but he is confident that she has some surprises for fans. “Miley is always looking to break creative boundaries. You can count on her not doing the same thing twice. She will figure out another way to blow people's mind,” he said.

Thicke also said that he isn’t going to perform with Cyrus. “Oh no, no no no... No no, definitely no, definitely not,” he told U.K. TV host Alan Carr, reports WENN.

Earlier this week, Cyrus announced her Bangerz tour, which won’t start until February in Vancouver.
